Hagie Manufacturing Company wins CropLife Iron Product of the Year 2008 with All-Wheel Steer

Madison, Wisconsin, January 2009 – Hagie Manufacturing Company was presented the CropLife Iron Product of the Year 2008 award for their All-Wheel Steer (AWS) option at the Wisconsin Crop Production Association meeting January 14th in Madison, Wisconsin.  All-Wheel Steering was introduced as an option to their full season self-propelled sprayers in August of 2008.  The option is available on STS10 and STS12 models built after January 2009 and will be available for other models soon.

CropLife Iron announced the finalists for the award in mid-November and online voting was closed on December 20th.  “This is the second year in a row that we had a product selected as a finalist for this award,” said Jim Williams, Product Marketing Engineer for Hagie Manufacturing Company, “Last year the STS14 and now our All-Wheel Steer option.  We hope this shows our continued commitment to provide innovative products to the industry.”  From their inception, Hagie Manufacturing Company has listened to their customers to provide equipment with specific features and options.  The Hagie AWS is that kind of a request.  The Hagie AWS reduces the machine turning radius by nearly half, making the detasseler and nitrogen applicator toolbar that much easier to use by allowing the machine to turn to match the width of the attachment.  In addition, the AWS also helps reduce crop damage on end rows by leaving only one set of wheel tracks. When turning the front and rear wheels follow each other reducing the soil surface that is disturbed and the number of plants that are run over.
