Kossuth/Palo Alto County-Wide Breakfast

The Kossuth/Palo Alto County Economic Development Corporation held its annual County-Wide Breakfast on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at St. Michael's Parish Center in Whittemore. The theme for this year’s breakfast was “Good Morning Kossuth & Palo Alto Counties” and the special guest speakers were Gary Kroeger, former cast member of Saturday Night Live and Loni McNertney, Mrs. Iowa.

Hagie Manufacturing Company wins CropLife Iron Product of the Year 2008 with All-Wheel Steer

Madison, Wisconsin, January 2009—Hagie Manufacturing Company was presented the CropLife Iron Product of the Year 2008 award for their All-Wheel Steer (AWS) option at the Wisconsin Crop Production Association meeting January 14th in Madison, Wisconsin. All-Wheel Steering was introduced as an option to their full season self-propelled sprayers in August of 2008. The option is available on STS10 and STS12 models built after January 2009 and will be available for other models soon.

Numerous food items that are produced or processed in Iowa can be found on grocer’s shelves. In the past, they have been difficult to locate. But a new program called Choose Iowa will make it easier to recognize the products.

IADG Members Capture $2.38 Million In USDA Development Funding

Agriculture Under Secretary for Rural Development Thomas C. Dorr announced that lADG members will receive $2.38 million in loans and grants to spur local economic development. Central Iowa Power Cooperative (CIPCa) and Lenox Municipal Utilities were each awarded $740,000 in zero-interest loans. cIPca will assist the financial package for Arkansas based River Bend Industries to acquire the assets of a plastics plant near Victor.e it easier to recognize the products.
