EDUCATION


Iowa has long been recognized throughout the U.S. for its outstanding education, which ranks 7th in general education and 2nd in ACT & SAT scores among states with more than half of seniors taking the ACT. Iowa also scores top in the nation in critical reading, math and writing.

In Mid Iowa, the region's schools are among the finest in the state, as witnessed by the high ACT scores posted by the local college-bound students.  In addition, Mid Iowa community school districts are highly recognized for their educational programming and 94.8% high school graduation rate (above state & national average).

Mid Iowa is home to Iowa Central Community College (Webster County), Ellsworth Community College (Hardin County), Iowa Lakes Community College (Kossuth County campus), and Buena Vista University (Webster County campus, which are all recognized for academic excellence and business training programs.
